John Flannery
Technical Artist
Through a combination of genius and family tradition, John dropped out of the University of Maryland College Park to pursue a "faster" track into the game industry. First heading to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, he received an Associates in Multimedia after learning they did not, in fact, have anything related to game development like the almighty television had told him. He then found himself very poor, followed by doing web development and wishing he were poor once again.
Following that debacle, John was once more lured back to an Art Institute; this time the fabled AI dwelling deep in the desert(ed) Phoenix, Arizona. He earned himself a Bachelor's in Game Art and Design, a spiffy shirt for good appliance sales at Best Buy, and his first nervous twitch.
Fleeing the desert with all speed, John moved back East...and then kept going east when a job application submitted in jest actually went through...in Amsterdam.
Things looking up, John flew off to Streamline Studios. He worked on several titles here, including: Saint's Row, Gears of War, and Unreal Tournament 3. Not only surviving the process but also getting promoted, he was promptly deported and sent back to the U.S. Despite assurances that he could return to Streamline, John decided to give Stateside work a try...
Now John works here.
John spends far too much money on games, movies, and books.
