Dan Roman
QA Tester
Dan was
born in a quiet, completely crime-free neighborhood in
New York City. An avid video gamer since his elementary
school days, he often dreamed of creating games of his
own. Despite a quality education - the kind that only
well-funded public schooling can provide - Dan left high
school with little more than some self-taught HTML and
basic coding skills. Three attempts at college and an
Associate's Degree in Digital Media later, he still saw
a career in game development as a mere pipe dream. He
spent the next few years as a freelance website developer
before moving to Maryland and, through an absurdly fortunate
chain of events, landed a job as part of Big Huge Games'
QA team, barely escaping eking out a living in fast food.
Now, after stumbling his way into a Lead Tester position,
he oversees the methodical criticism of other people's
best efforts with disturbing enthusiasm.
Dan's tastes in gaming range from role-playing and strategy games to fast-paced shooters, but his favorites tend to be quirky Japanese titles and PC and console classics. He ran a mildly successful web comic for over a year, and still enjoys drawing things, crumpling them up, and then quietly entering a state of depression. He is also an avid collector of anime, manga, and related merchandise. Despite slander to the contrary, Dan has never been known to employ sarcasm or exhibit a self-deprecating sense of humor.
