Benjamin Schneider
Narrative Designer

It all began on a trip to the Metropolitan Museum. A year out of college, Ben stepped out of the 86th Street subway and wandered past a video game store with an Ultima series box set in the window. "Wow! Those games were great," he thought to himself. And then, "Wow! The writing was terrible!" These were, it turned out, the fateful words (not even spoken aloud) that would lead him down the narrow, treacherous path of video game design.

Returning to Boston from New York City, Ben worked for Stainless Steel Studios, Harmonix, and Iron Lore Entertainment as a mission, level, and quest designer - and then as a writer. In 2008, fate intervened again, guiding Ben out of the flaming wreckage of a failing developer...southward...to Baltimore...to Big Huge Games.

Ben has published several articles on Gamasutra.com and in Game Developer magazine. He has utterly failed at two indie game projects. He bakes the best apple pie you've ever tasted.

Ben has not yet been cured of feckless idealism.
