After graduating from Stevenson University with a B.A. in English Language and Literature and a quick trip to Japan, Amanda decided to skip the working world and go straight to retirement. She spent most of her days getting lost in the woods with her dog and eating jalapeño poppers. Having so much free time on her hands and a backlog of games left unfinished (some even unopened) from her school days, her gaming habit picked up tenfold. Naturally a nocturnal creature, Amanda spent many long nights in her papasan chair playing videogames.
When she was forced to make a difficult decision between buying Portal 2 or dog food, Amanda decided to finally get another job (don’t worry, sad puppy eyes won). Having held many different jobs and volunteer positions including training guide dogs, running a Snow Club for high schoolers, and cleaning a church, Amanda wasn’t sure what she wanted to do. She realized that here was the perfect opportunity to take a chance, and decided to follow a lifelong dream to work in the video game industry. Amanda soon landed a totally awesome job as a QA tester at Big Huge Games.
When not busy breaking her computer at work, Amanda enjoys hiking with her dog, snowboarding, and playing soccer on team Dunder “Thunder” Mifflin.
